The Mad Whale is a gothic drama set in the claustrophobic and brutal world of a women’s mental asylum circa the late 1800s, where the patients are tasked with staging a play based on Herman Melville’s “Moby Dick.”

The film premiered at The Heartland Film Festival in October 2017. A co-production between Elysium Bandini Studios and USC’s School of Cinema.

Starring Camilla Belle, Dominic Rains, Summer Phoenix, Nicole Starrett, and James Franco.  

The film has completed its festival run and is currently available for watch on iTunes, Amazon, and Blu Ray.
